Who can be insured?
Our insurance is dedicated to all foreigners coming to and staying in Poland. For long-term employees, seasonal workers, tourists and visitors, students, and researchers.
Can a Pole be insured?
Yes, but only Poles permanently living outside Poland. The insurance covers the arrival and temporary stay in Poland, for tourism, education, or work purposes, for the entire duration of the stay in the country.
In which countries does the insurance work?
Insurance for foreigners and Poles permanently living outside the country covers costs related to insurance events only on the territory of Poland during the insurance period.
For how long can insurance be purchased?
The insurance policy can be taken out for any insurance period lasting from 1 day to 1 year. The insurance period should coincide with the validity period of the visa or stay in Poland.
Is physical work covered by insurance?
Yes, provided that the insurance is taken out in the extended version for physical work. Remember that physical work is work with an increased risk of damage (see GTC). Other types of work or intellectual work are always covered by insurance.
Does the insurance cover sports activities?
It depends. Amateur sports are always covered by insurance. If you do professional sports or high-risk sports, contact us to prepare a special offer.
Travel medical insurance requirements for visas
Art. 25 of the Act on Foreigners requires foreigners to have insurance during their entry into Poland and stay in the territory of the Republic of Poland. The foreigner is obliged to possess and present on demand a document confirming health insurance under the provisions of the Act of August 27, 2004, on health care services financed from public funds or travel medical insurance meeting the following conditions:
Minimum insurance amount
The minimum insurance amount (minimum sum) of the required medical insurance is 30,000 euros. An insurance policy with such or a higher insurance amount is mandatory both when submitting the visa application, when crossing the border of the Republic of Poland, and during the entire stay in Poland. Insurance with less than 30,000 euros sum is not accepted.
Insurance validity period
The required insurance must be valid for the entire period of the planned stay of the foreigner in Poland or the validity of the visa. In the case of planned stays longer than a year (e.g., for a student visa), it is enough to have a policy for 1 year.
Minimum insurance coverage
Medical insurance for foreigners should cover all expenses that may arise during the stay related to:
- the need for medical repatriation,
- urgent medical assistance,
- emergency hospital treatment or death,
in which the insurer undertakes to cover the costs of health services provided to the insured directly to the entity providing such services, based on the invoice issued by that entity.
Insurer conditions
The insurer must provide a 24/7 alarm center service in Poland.
If the insurer does not have a branch or office in Poland, another EU member state, or an EFTA member state, it must additionally:
- publish the results of an audit conducted by a reputable international institution,
- the audit must confirm the ability to satisfy claims of entities providing health services in Poland,
- publish data on collected premiums at least every 6 months,
- publish data on payouts in a given type of insurance at least every 6 months.
